Amanda Huxtable is a Theatre Director based in the North of England and has created acclaimed work within the cultural industries for over 20 years. Amanda trained at Manchester Metropolitan University (Recreational Arts in The Community) and later at The University of Leeds (Communications and Cultural Studies.) She has furthered her training throughout her career underpinning and informing her artistic practice and cultural leadership with a life long commitment to Social Sciences and the Performing Arts.
She served as Artistic Director of Yorkshire Women's Theatre, working alongside the Asian Women's Drama Project from 2004 until 2009.
Amanda directs a range of theatre work primarily with New Writing. She enjoys supporting and learning from emerging Theatre Artists as well as working with fellow established Theatre workers and venues up and down the country. She has recently delivered training as part of Theatre Royal Wakefields inaugural Regional Theatre Young Directors Scheme planned and delivered with Directors Sarah Osborne and Rhiannon Hannon and also enjoyed her time with the Theatres Academy teaching acting and performance skills.
